“I believe that society exists because of people, and people, because of the society. And, since I am no exception, I must also exist for our society, and I try to, with a deep-rooted sense of social responsibility.”

UNDERTAKINGS

While growing up, I cannot recall a moment when I did not find myself unconcerned and unbothered by the typical societal hardships of everyday people. That is perhaps why I developed a keen inclination toward serving the community and dedicating my time and resources, including myself, to social service. I know not if it has always been a part of my destiny or if it is the sense of joy and comfort that I get from helping those in need but what I am quite certain of is the fact that being of service to humanity has definitely given me a direction in my life.

Shree Lunkaran Das Ganga Devi Chaudhary Charity Hospital
Many, many years ago, I started my journey with and among the people of Sunsari, although it seems like yesterday. It had always been my fondest wish to give back to that community ever since. And, that wish of mine materialised as Shree Lunkaran Das-Ganga Devi Chaudhary Charity Hospital in 1994. My goal behind opening this hospital is to provide access to free medical care for the deprived and underprivileged people of Sunsari district in eastern Nepal. It’s a very special project that touches my heart in more than one way.

Norvic International Hospital

Norvic is one of my dream projects. Years back, when there was a dearth of good hospitals in Nepal, I had to be admitted to one of the so-called good hospitals in India from where I came back with a very bitter experience.

It was then that I promised myself that someday when I would become able and successful, I would develop a world-class healthcare facility here in Nepal. It would be a sanitary and specialised healthcare institution with advanced technology and highly-qualified healthcare professionals where my fellow Nepalis could receive state-of-the-art treatment at an affordable cost. With his sense of social service, my father, along with Dr Naresh Trehan of Global Health (Medicity), Delhi and Dr Ravi R. Kasliwal, have been the key sources of inspiration and vision for Norvic.

Norvic is the only ISO 9001:2000 certified hospital in Nepal that offers excellent invasive and non-invasive medical procedures and has set the benchmark in the country.
